Lulu's Tumor Surgery

This sweet girl is Lulu. 

She started forming a small lump on her belly that felt something like an M&M beneath her skin. We took her to the vet a few months ago and they thought it was just a cyst, that she would be fine. We went in today (September 18th, 2017) to have things checked out as she'd developed a small infection on her stomach.  Our vet palpated all along her underneath and found something more:

That small lump has since turned into 4 mammary tumors, spreading all the way up one side of her body.

The only real course of treatment is surgery to remove them, but it is costly. Our vet worked up an estimate and with everything she needs done, it rounds down to around $1,800.

Lulu is 10 years old, but hasn't slowed down in the least. She is a lover of humans (especially small ones), cuddles, snacks, stealing socks, sun bathing, and going for rides in the car, but there's nothing she loves more than her squeaky (quacky?) duck. She will romp about for hours if someone is willing to play tug or fetch with her. 



Given how fast it spread from just that one lump, our vet is worried that if we wait too much longer, it will spread to the other side as well and ultimately, end up costing our silly ween her life.
