Lucas Mouton's Family

Dear Family and Friends of the Moutons,

We have set up this Go Fund Me page to help alleviate some of the financial stress on Lucas’s family, so they are able to be by his side throughout his recovery without the worry of expenses.

Lucas is the second son of Alex and Kim Mouton. He has 4 siblings, Ethan, Griffin, Anna Beth and Charlie. He is a 3rd year college student at UL. He works at Motier in Lafayette and spends his summers working beach chair rentals on 30A in Florida. His love for golf has grown immensely over the past few years and he plays every chance he gets with friends. He was a basketball player all 4 years at STM and continues to play recreationally. He is very active outdoors and loves all sports.

On Dec 23rd Lucas was in a horrible car accident which left him intubated in a coma in the ICU with TBI (traumatic brain injury). He suffered multiple brain bleeds causing frontal lobe injury/diffuse axonal injury (DAI). He also sustained a fractured jaw and cheekbone. Lucas underwent successful surgery on Dec 28 to fix his jaw injuries. He remained in ICU for 11 days and is now able to breath on his own with limited speech/communication and impacted physical abilities. He was moved from ICU to the Neurology floor where he is working towards a transition to neurological rehabilitation at Touro in New Orleans in the coming days. There he will begin working to repair and rebuild the neuro pathways in his brain to regain cognitive and physical skills.

Lucas has a long road to recovery and Alex and Kim want to be by his side as he will need their presence and support. This account is dedicated to help cover travel, lodging, essentials and other expenses they will incur while splitting time between Lafayette and New Orleans.
