On 9th January 2016, a beautiful little soul with vibrant blue eyes was born to Peadair Saunders and Meggan Hughes...
Lucas John Avian Hughes was born with a rare genetic mutation to the FGFR1 gene, resulting in Hartsfield Syndrome - there are only 25 documented cases that are currently reported. As a result of this, Lucas has endured a series of other illnesses including
Semi-Lobar Holoprosencephaly, and absent Corpus Collosum, Diabetes, Inspidus, Cleft Lip and Palate whilst enduring everyday colds and ailments that affected his immunity system and compounded his existing illnesses.
He was fed via a GJ-Tube directly into his intestines on continuous feeds due to severe Gord and poor weight gain.
Lucas was never able to take his first step and the only word he had ever spoken is 'Mum'....
Sadly, on the morning of the 19th December, 2019 Lucas, everyone's brave little fighter, passed away in his sleep.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Peadair, Meggan and his sisters Alice and Indie.
Lucas's Funeral Service will be held on Friday 27th December, 2019 at Pinegrove Memorial Park appointed to commence at 11.00am. Many services have been donated to help ease the financial burden that Lucas's family have already faced - however, the reality is that there are still costs that need to be covered.
Any donations to assist towards the cost of Lucas's Funeral Service would be greatly appreciated and will help in giving Lucas a Celebration of his Life that he so truly deserves.
