LSTC Team Charity 100 Mile Ultra-Marathon Fundraiser

Hello,

On the 11th March, the staff at Letchworth Sports and Tennis Club will be running, or some walking, over 100 miles collectively to raise money in aid of Stand-by-me Bereavement Support Service for Children.

Stand-by-me was launched in 2014 to support bereaved children, young people and their families in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage, their focus is on providing support, information and advice for bereaved families, regardless of when or how they have been bereaved. They offer groupwork sessions for both children and parents/carers as well as post-group counselling for parents/carers.

We have chosen to fundraise for Stand-by-me because we are keen to support charities in the local area. Stand-by-me have created a very supportive network for families in need and you never know if you or ones close to you will need a charity like them.

Professionally assessing the emotional needs of just one child costs £120, with the 7 week groupwork session costing £300 per child. As a club, we are keen to raise over £1000 to support multiple children and families through the bereavement process. Every donation, big or small, massively helps us push towards our target.
