Love, Lucas. (Service Dog For Lucas)

This is my son Lucas. He is ten years old. Lucas is a normal little boy who does his best in school, loves Little league baseball and Pokemon cards. Lucas also suffers from ADHD, anxiety, depression and PTSD. Lucas suffered an unspeakable trauma at 6 and this trauma that shaped his life going forward. Lucas scares and startles easily. Lucas gets upset quickly and doesn't do well in crowds. While he is polite and smart and strong, he struggles with self confidence and interacting with other children. We have spent years doing different therapies, both outpatient and partial inpatient. Nothing worked. We have tried every medicine possible, but nothing worked. It wasn't until we saw an occupational therapist for some strong sensory issues that we put two and two together. His whole life and behaviors have been driven by this trauma. This trauma had been suppressed by the direction of a past therapist. We swept it under the rug, at the direct of a medical professional.We have since switched therapists and she had been unaware of the trauma (the previous therapist never charted it). Now we've begun intense trauma recovery therapy. This has caused major regression and stress for my sweet boy. Having a PTSD companion dog will change Lucas for the best. This dog will help calm him when he becomes agitated. It will be his friend when he has no others. This dog will help him go out into the world when he's "Just a little scared and overwhelmed today". This dog will make a world of difference for my baby and our family unit as a whole. Please consider helping us reach our goal.
