Love and support for Lisa (Gardes) Heath
UPDATE: March 9, 2022. I'm having trouble finding the words to update this fundraiser. Last year I noted the need to help Lisa through the unspeakable loss of her youngest son. Adding to the difficulty was the fact that her son Mattie was experiencing serious health problems. The unimaginable happened yesterday and Lisa lost Mattie, just a month before the first anniversary of losing Luke. Instead of starting a new GoFundMe, I am recirculating this one and increasing the goal. The money goes directly to Lisa. I know there are many tragedies these days and we're all likely to be giving to different charities. Please consider giving to this one, as well.

On April 15th (2021), our dear friend Lisa (Gardes) Heath experienced one of the greatest tragedies a parent can face. She lost her youngest son Luke. On what would have been his 25th birthday, the day before Mother's Day, Lisa visited his grave at Quantico. The loss has been almost unbearable.
While "life moves on," that is easier said than done. Two days after Luke's funeral, Lisa was supposed to start a new job where she would need to work 50-60 hours a week. It quickly became clear that was impossible. As she said to me "The person they hired is not who I am now." To add to the tragedy, her son Mattie is experiencing life-threatening health problems, brought on by the stress of losing his little brother. Lisa is trying to find another job that will allow her to telework, while also helping Mattie recover.
If you're reading this, you likely know Lisa and how her smile lights up a room and everyone around her. We may not be able to get that smile back right now, but I hope her friends can give some financial support as she navigates this difficult time. Please give any amount you can. Also please forward this to anyone you think may be interested in supporting Lisa during this dark time.
