Hi, I'm Kelly, the daughter of Ron (Charlie) and Vicki, who have lived in the beautiful Caveat area for over 20 years. During the Longwood/Ruffy fire on January 9th 2026, unfortunately our little cottage home in Caveat was destroyed.

Dad had stayed in the Terip-Ruffy area through most of the fire at first, calling in fires he saw and helping out preparing a friend's house. He didn't think to worry about our house or about our things, and when he finally did, he managed to grab some random clothes and the 3 pets, and all of their belongings.

We haven't been allowed back yet, but we know we've lost all our large sheds full of tools and equipment, 3 cars, all household items and electronics, and all precious sentimental items. 6 sheep that our amazing neighbour has found still alive, is all that remains back home waiting, apart from ruin.

I'm doing this gofundme because my parents are battlers, they'd never ask even if they were desperate. My family are living off a pension, the house and contents were not insured because it wasn't something we've been able to afford. Before this happened, they were slowly repairing parts of the house, so there's no money saved. Any funds I raise will be used to help assist with housing, the necessities of our pets, our necessities, possible clean up costs and anything else that may arise in the near future. We were already having hard times within the family, but this was a true kick in the guts and was something we never thought would happen to us. I really just want to help ease the stress and worry of my parents through this hard time, so any small amount will go very far in helping all of us get back on our feet.
