For roughly 35 years, Herb Crawford has been the owner of the Lonconing Silk Mill in Western Maryland. It is the last intact silk mill in the United States. The mill has been subject to vandalism over the years, and the roof is in dire need of replacement. It is a unique part of American history that should be saved.
As Herb is aging and in need of funds, his wife, Betty, has developed Alzheimer’s and needs constant supervision. Herb is unable to tend the mill as he would like. Please help and make a donation so this vital building can be restored.
