"Little Yellow Bird" NYU Thesis Film Fundraiser

LITTLE YELLOW BIRD: “A glimpse into the life and mind of a girl with the weight of everyone else’s world on her shoulders.”

Hello! My name is Imani Thomas and I am a senior pursuing my BFA in Film & Television at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. With my graduation quickly approaching this May, I’m really looking forward to ending my education at NYU with the production of my experimental thesis film titled “Little Yellow Bird.” This film is special to me because it is a story of resilience, an attribute I value highly in myself and others.

I’m especially excited about this production because it will be shot entirely on 16mm film. While my crew and I are looking forward to working with film and challenging ourselves with all the details that go into filming, it will certainly be costly. Aside from the expense of shooting on film, we will also be using the funds raised from these donations to help pay for our locations, food for our cast and crew, equipment rentals, production design, transportation, and more. I’m more appreciative of any help I receive than I could possibly explain, and it is with this help that I can bring this story to life in a way that is just and true to my vision.
