Our oldest, most precious cat got sick last week and had to go to the emergency vet because she felt too ill to eat and her liver was in danger. She's been living with kidney problems for a while, and something like this can be a sign of even more problems that can threaten an elderly cat's life.
The day's veterinary bills came out to almost 3000 dollars, and we also have to spend hundreds more on follow-up appointments for her in the coming days and weeks. We still don't know what happened, and it could be something she'll recover from, or something as terminal as cancer.
She already has multiple expensive prescriptions, and one of our other cats also has multiple prescriptions and special, expensive food needs. I've been out of work and surviving on odd jobs for a while, and my fiancee can only support us so much. This is an expense we absolutely can't afford, especially if she needs expensive, ongoing support, which we just don't know yet.
Margaret and Ladycat have been together since before I met either of them over a decade ago, and I just want to give them as many days together as possible before Lady eventually leaves us. She's been very healthy for her age until recently, but all of this comes at a huge expenditure of time and money. I know it's a lot to ask, but things are bad, and anything at all will help us make it to tomorrow, next week and next month.
Thank you so much.
