Lisa has been in St. Francis Hospital for just over 4 months now. She is in need of a treatment that will re-set her Immune System. She has a rare disease called Neuromyelitis qOptica. This attack started April 18, 2017, and we are STILL HERE. She had gotten a little better, with only right side paralasis and went to rehab.
She was in there just under 2 weeks, and had ANOTHER NMO EXACERBATION. That was May 30th. This attack took the use of BOTH ARMS and she had to be INTUBATED to BREATH! Several weeks later, she had to have a tracheostomy. She is still on the vent to help her breath and they are trying to wean her off.
5 weeks ago, the Dr's. HERE IN TULSA SAID THEY DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO FOR LISA.
With that being said the HOSPITALIST asked me if we could reach out to any of her other DR's.
So, I did. Lisa' Neorulogist in Miami contacted me, and he DOES HAVE a treatment that he has done and sent me the prodocall to give the Dr's here.
THEY WON't do it here in Tulsa. Both of Lisa's Neurologists and the Oncologist said NO.
I then asked the Dr in Miami if he would do it and he is now waiting on Lisa to get to him in Miami.
Lisa has to be transported by "Fixed Wing" medical plane because she is still on Ventilater.
The Transport company wants their fee UP FRONT.
Without this treatment, St. Francis will move Lis to a Long Term Facility where she will no longer receive ANY OTHER TREATMENT.
She has no legs working as she has lost all muscle in them from being in bed for 4 months.
NIETHER of her arms move.
Shes being TUBE FED and VENTILATOR to breath.
We need help to get to FLORIDA FOR THIS TREATMENT or we will lose Lisa.
Ed Boatright, Lisa's father and me, her Mother, will be driving to Miami .
