Help lift Corey up as he navigates cancer treatment at 27 years old.

On April 30, 2026, our lives flipped upside down. For those of you that know Corey and follow our social media accounts, he is a very fit, healthy, and strong man. Learning he has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma esophageal cancer just does not make sense. We are devastated.

In the past week, Corey has been poked and prodded for bloodwork, IVs, and anesthesia. We initially met with doctors of GastroHealth on April 30, 2026, for an endoscopy, thinking Corey may just be allergic to gluten or dairy...then they found a mass. Within the last week, which we are beyond thankful for getting in the door so quickly with UC Health, we have meet with numerous doctors for GI oncology, surgery, andrology, etc.

If you do not already know, Corey is a dedicated gym teacher at Guardian Angels teaching grades K-8, where is spends his days encouraging kiddos to believe in themselves, to stay active, and to find confidence through movement. Outside the school walls, Corey is known for his passion for strongman training, pushing his limits not just for strength, but for discipline, resilience, and personal growth.

But what truly defines Corey isn’t his strength, it’s his heart. He’s a loving son, a devoted husband, and a proud dog dad who finds joy in the simple moments: spending time with family and friends, and making people laugh. He’s the kind of person who lifts others up, whether that’s in the gym, the classroom, or everyday life.

Corey has always been the kind of person who shows up, no matter what - previous high school teammates and classmates, fellow teacher co-workers, the GA community, and friends and family know this well. He is kind, loving, funny, and will talk your head off for hours about sports, Christmas movies, and of course, anything Cincinnati.

Corey is ready to fight this with everything he has. The same determination he’s shown in every aspect of his life is now focused on beating this diagnosis. But he can’t do it alone.

We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden that comes with cancer treatment: medical bills, time away from work, and everything in between. More importantly, we want Corey and our family to focus on what matters most right now: healing, staying strong, and being together.

Everyone knows how kind Corey is and how much he’s given to others. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
