Life-Saving Care for Maddie Lou Farley

This fundraiser is to give friends and loved ones the opportunity to help the Farleys with life-saving care for their 1-year-old daughter, Maddie Lou. Maddie is the sweet daughter of Torrie and Patrick Farley and sister of Nathan. It would be a blessing to them if they could concentrate on helping Maddie recover rather than the burden and worry of medical bills.

 

On February 22, Maddie was rushed to the ER in respiratory distress. Six weeks later, Maddie is still at Children’s Hospital receiving care.

 

Over the first couple of days when Maddie was hospitalized, Torrie shared this post with her friends and family on social media:

"She was rushed to the ER after checking in and getting her vitals checked. She was in respiratory distress and had to be put on a CPAP machine. It took about 45 minutes of trying to find a vein for an IV, but after no luck and some blown veins, they ended up having to drill a hole into her shin bone to insert an IV. Once she was more stable, she was transferred up to Pediatric ICU where she then had to have a surgery to insert a temporary IV through her groin and remove the shin bone IV. The surgery went well and she has been sedated and on a feeding tube getting lots of rest. We also learned that Maddie has two small holes in her heart, but thankfully the holes aren’t serious enough for surgery or to worry about."

 

The doctors still do not have all of the answers about Maddie’s health but continue to run tests and find ways to support her health.
