Life- saving surgery for Jody Gibbs!
After fighting breast cancer twice, the last thing Jody Gibbs thought she would need is a new heart! Her chemotherapy caused extensive heart damage causing congestive heart failure. She is now recuperating after open heart surgery that placed a left ventricular assistive device, a device implanted to help her heart pump. Medical bills have been high the last 8 months and this is her second long hospital stay this year. Jody has been unable to work and the Gibbs home will need some adaptations for Jody to be safe at home. Jody will need a new shower that is more accessible for her than a bathtub. The LVAD device requires battery or electrical power at all times. Bob and Jody have a generator, but need to have an electrician put in the correct service for it to be used safely during power outages. Their resources to do these items have been spent on all the medical expenses this year, her deductible for health insurance is $8000! Bob and Jody are always ready to help others out, so we would like to help them at this time of need. Claudia Steenhoek and I would like to ask you to consider making a donation for the Gibbs family. It would be nice to get the funds so that the bathroom work could be done in the next 2 weeks while Jody is still in the hospital.
