LHMS and TMS Odyssey of the Mind World Finals

Help LHMS/TMS team get to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals!

 

Each of the seven members of the combined LHMS/TMS Odyssey of the Mind team has put in hundreds of hours of work and practice since September. They now have the opportunity to show the world their creativity and spontaneous, out-of-the-box thinking!

 

In April, they won 1st place in their problem/division and the coveted OMer award, which qualified them for the World Finals.

 

We need your help to send our team to the 2022 Odyssey of the Mind World Finals on May 25-28 at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

 

At the World Finals, the team will be immersed in a community of similarly creative, enthusiastic, and motivated students from around the country and the world. Your contributions will help pay for their registration, travel, dorm housing, food and transporting their sets, props, and costumes- estimated to be over $9,000 for the entire team.

 

What is Odyssey of the Mind?

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems ranging from building mechanical devices to presenting their interpretations of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competitions on the local, state, and world levels. Thousands of teams from the U.S. and from all over the world participate in the program. The competition emphasizes creativity and teamwork and has grown into the largest international creative problem-solving competition worldwide.

There's a short amount of time between the Virginia State Tournament and World Finals, so the team needs your help NOW to help raise the money required to continue their journey.
