Hey friends and family!
Last Wednesday (November 17) the Mires family had a very unexpected turn of events with their precious baby girl, Lola. She had a cold that turned into pneumonia in both lungs, double ear infection and a UTI. Bria had brought her to the doctor and received antibiotics for her, but when they got home, Lola got much worse and was turning blue and struggling to breathe .. Lola's vitals were dangerously low, and she needed to be intubated in an ambulance on the way to Mary Bridge.
Shortly after arriving, the doctors discovered that Lola's pneumonia had turned bacterial and had gone into her blood stream. She went into septic shock and was relying on life support. Her fever went up t 104.5 and her vitals were unstable as her body was fighting all the issues that had risen. Lola ended up being diagnosed with abdominal compartment syndrome, where her belly was so swollen her lungs had no room to breathe... so the doctors performed an emergency surgery where they opened her up and took her intestines out to give her other organs more room to breathe and cool down. This operation allowed her little body to get a break, and she was then considered stable, with the understanding that it could be a while before they would be able to put her back together, and close her tummy. Lola has been fighting hard, yesterday (November 22nd) Bria updated with this text:
"God has been gracious to us and is answering the army of prayers outpoured for Lola. Last week was one blow after another of bad news and close calls. Our girl was on her deathbed. Over the weekend she was stabilized and we started seeing a glimmer of hope. She has continued on with slow, positive progress. They are watching her so closely the doctors say her life is no longer at risk!! Praise Him!! It's been absolutely breathtaking and amazing to watch her almost unrecognizable, lifeless body returning back to looking more like our Lola. We're still waiting on healing from her many sicknesses, and swelling to come down so her tummy can be closed up. Looking ahead there may be challenges getting her back to eating and her bowels functioning properly after being out of her body so long. But we will work through them, and are so grateful to have to opportunity! Long road ahead, but it looks like she will recover!
Love you all so much and so thankful for all you prayers and love❤️"
Bria and Tyler's other 3 children (Inarah, Michael and Clyde) are with Tyler's parents.
The Mires Church family and friends have stepped in in so many ways to be a blessing to their family, and continue to do so. If we could all rise up and donate to make this painful time a little less stressful, We know it will be an encouragement to their family as they face unexpected medical and living expenses!!!! Thank you!!
The Mires family would never ask for anything like this. They have such outward looking hearts and minds, always looking for who they can serve and love on. Thankfully, GoFundMe does not need their blessing to move forward.
With so many asking how they can help, support and stand around their family. This is a great way to show them the love that we all have for their family.

Bria and Tyler are so grateful for the heroes at Mary Bridge who have fought hard for Lola's life, delicately taking care of her every need. And for their friends and family who have encouraged and supported them through this trial ♥️
