Help Keep Gaylene's Light Shining
Please consider donating today.

Our dear friend, Gaylene Caputo, was recently diagnosed with Primary Myelofibrosis, a rare form of blood cancer. While the news has been crushing, Gaylene’s faith and our determination to help her is unwavering. An allogenic stem cell transplant is Gaylene’s best chance at life. We are all rallying to support her fight.

We're committed to raising $50,000 for Gaylene.

Let me tell you about Gaylene.
Gaylene is witty, passionate, funny, and smart. She can captivate your attention with vivid detail, fill your heart with joy, and bring you to tears with her vibrant personality and charismatic storytelling.

Gaylene’s heart is larger than life. She has a tireless capacity to serve others and her community. She'll make time for you when there is none left in her day, and she'll always lift your spirits and find the energy to shine her light on you.

If Gaylene were telling this story, she’d tell you God has been lining up the pieces all these years to make sure everything was in place for this day. She’d tell you He strategically placed each of you in her life so that today she would be supported by a large, giving community of strong individuals willing to carry her through this time. She would say that this story is simply a path that leads to her attesting to God’s love and glory in curing her of a life-threatening disease.

It's time we shine our light back on Gaylene.

Gaylene will need immeasurable support before, during, and after her transplant. Below are just a handful of ways YOUR donations will be used in preparation for, during, and after her transplant:

  • Private in-home care*: Having a 24/7 in-home caregiver for the first 100 days after discharge from the hospital is a condition of transplant eligibility. This cost is not covered by insurance. ($650/day)

  • Out-of-pocket medical costs: Including deductibles, pathology labs and tests not covered, co-insurance, co-pays, pre and post-transplant medications, and medical supplies (An allogenic stem cell transplant can cost upwards of $800,000, with an average co-insurance of 10%.)

  • Meals (food, prep and delivery) ($300/week)

  • Twice monthly deep housecleaning service: To eliminate any risk of infection. ($200/day)

  • Cover gaps in income while Gaylene is unable to work - and supplement income while on FMLA (covers ~60% of income).

  • Transportation costs*: Daily infusions for 120 days after discharge and twice weekly doctor visits ($160/week).

*When friends and family aren’t available, we'll rely on an in-home care agency and transportation services.

Gaylene is my dear friend. She is strong and resilient, and with your help I KNOW we can make a difference in her recovery. Please help me rally support for her.

On behalf of all who love Gaylene, we sincerely thank you for your generosity and support.
