Lets Get Dan-O Home!

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,

My name is Brittany (Shea) Hergert, Dan Shea's daughter. My dad was admitted to the hospital on Thursday, December 16th after battling Covid-19 at home for almost 2 weeks with no reprieve. In addition to his treatment course, he was placed on oxygen and was not making the improvements they were hoping to see.

Suddenly in the early morning of Wednesday, December 29th he had an extremely hard time breathing. He was immediately transferred to the ICU and put on a ventilator. Initially he got worse, then he got a little better.

As of today, January 2nd he has a blood clot in his leg & lung, an infection they are trying to locate the source of and artifacts in the front of his brain (could be the infection). Tomorrow he will be getting a lumbar tap to see what the artifacts in the brain are. Since he was first admitted to the hospital his situation has become a lot more complex than just Covid. The dr told me at this point we are taking it week by week.

If you have known my dad for a while, you know he is one badass mother******! He lives with diabetes and stage 4 lymphoma cancer. If anyone can beat this, I KNOW he can! The amount of people who have reached out has been incredibly heartwarming, I don't believe my dad knows how many people care for him.

For all you dog lovers out there, know that his fur babies are being well taken care of. His sweet girl CJ is missing her daddy but handling the change as best as she can while soaking up all the snuggles with her foster mama (my mom) and DJ, his new puppy is living his best life just being a puppy. Foster mom is taking lots of pics for my dad so he feels like he never missed a thing!

I've had people reach out and ask what they can do to help. Most importantly, send your prayers of healing and good vibes! If you would like to reply to this post and send him a message, I will read them to him when I FaceTime with him daily - I know he would love to hear from you! If you are able and would like to donate financially any help would be appreciated. I have been working with his employer to try to get his short term disability going but that will take a little while. Any financial help will go towards mortgage/utilities/bills - when he gets better we don't want him to have to worry about the finances!

Again, I can't thank you all enough for the love and support. My dad is my hero, my rock, my constant... I never thought I would ever be in this position, let alone so soon. Lets get Dan-O home!
