Legacy and Remembrance Fundraiser for Karen Hean

How the Hell can you put any of this into words? On Thursday past 2/3/2022 - Karen put a FB post up @ 8:06 PM as she had a large collection of Rolling View Farm's chicken eggs she needed to sell, but she never got to deliver any of those eggs.

 

Her health took a sharp drastic turn - the first of so very many! By 4 PM Friday 2/4 Wayne, her beloved husband reported that Karen needed our prayers and that she was at Davenport Genesis East ER. By 7:34PM more prayers were needed, because he had just coded.  Then by 11 Karen had been helicoptered to Iowa City's hospital as her condition was so critical and so complicated!

We got daily updates from Saturday through Tuesday. At around 5 PM on Wednesday the 9th, we got an ominous update that all family members had been summoned back to the hospital.

At 5:56 PM Kate, Karen's daughter shared her poem of Goodbyes and this photo.

 

They had all been informed by Karen's doctors that all of her organs were no longer functioning or they were all in a state of failure, and the U of I hospital would not be able to save Karen's life. So they gathered and said their last words to their Mother and their Wife - Wayne, Jimmy, Kate Anne and Billy Wayne were all there "in Family" to wish no more pain & suffering to their most loved one.

Now the hardest days of all of their lives comes yet. Making the final arrangements, dealing with mounds of unimaginable medical bills, and just trying to function day to day. Karen was the rock, cement, glue and more to most if not all her family & I can only speculate how many more people, too.

Any measure of help that you can give will be some measure of your love for Karen and her family, some remembrance of what she did & meant to you personally & some amount of weight being lifted from Wayne's shoulders, too. Thank you for whatever you offer.
