The Volusia County Sheriff's Office family is grieving the unimaginable and sudden loss of the beautiful Layla Turner, 4-year-old daughter of one of our Detectives. Layla passed away Sunday morning unexpectedly. She was only here for 4 years but she left a lifelong impact on everyone that got to meet her and she was truly the embodiment of how beautiful and precious life is.
This is any family's worst nightmare and this is something no parent should have to endure. There are no words that will make their pain go away but we hope with this account we can help raise enough money to help Layla's family lay her to rest. Our hearts are broken for Detective Jason Turner, his entire family and everyone who knew and loved Layla. Detective Jason Turner, also an Army Veteran, is the sole provider for the family, and anything will help this grieving family.
