Friends and family! A quick update: I am reaching the homestretch of my undergraduate career at the Universty of Texas at Austin, studying Rhetoric and Writing (& minoring in English). I successfully walked on to the cross country and track team and we will start indoor track season soon! Thus far, I have taken incredible courses that have both stretched my understanding of the world and taught me new skills and concepts within my degree.
This summer, I have a wonderful opportunity to participate in the Oxford Summer Program. It is a 5 week program sponsored by the Deparmment of English. The program takes place in Oxford at Wadham College (In England!).
I will be taking two upper level English courses (Shakespeare and War and Literature in 20th Century Britain), which will complete my minor.
The purpose of the program is to study literature on site, in order to engage with the history and writing in a new way.
However, study abroad programs are not cheap and my only hinderance lies within funding the trip. The cost of the program is $6000. This cost covers a private room, most meals for the length of the program, charted bus travel for program events, entrance fees and theatre tickets for all program trips, and a final banquet. If you are able to give anything at all, I am extremely grateful.
If you cannot give financially, I ask that you take the time to give prayerfully. Prayer for the funds, safe travel, an open mind, and an enriched learning experience.
