LaTonya Mathis Funeral Expenses and burial
My mom was a fighter. When she was 13 she battled a rare bone cancer name Rhabdomyosarcoma. The doctors told her she could never have kids. She beat the odds and had her one and only child(me). In 2001 she was diagnosed with fluid on her brain. My grandmother was told that my mother will never be the same. LaTonya was hospitalized for 7 months and came home with no fluid. She beat the odds not once but twice. My mother resided in her own home. Where she impacted so many people. She was the life of the party, funny, caring, outspoken, loyal, kind, and the party queen. She loved music and being around people she loved. Whatever event she was invited to, she would connect with everyone.
February 11, my mom was hospitalized. She was fighting once again. She never gave up or lost hope. March 1st, 2020 my mom woke up and gave me confidence that she fought all she could. She started to breath on her own. She surprise the doctors that she was breathingabove the machine. The doctors pulled her off the breathing machine. She sat up in her bed and talked to her love ones. She told us she loves us, and kissed and hugged all of us. She told me directly she needed some rest. That night she was placed back on the machine, because she started to have trouble breathing again.
March 3, 2020 God called my mother home. She suffered from ARDS, Kidney Failure, Lung Failure, Sepis and a cardiac arrest. My mom had a Globe Life Insurance since 2001. She missed a few payments and before we could make a payment she needed to sign a reinstatement form. She was under sedation so she couldn’t sign the paperwork. She didn’t have a power of attorney so the only way I could sign the reinstatement paperwork was if I went through the courts and got guardianship. I paid for a lawyer to get me guardianship over my mom but the court date was April 2nd, 2020.
She didn’t make it. Funeral expenses and burial expenses are costly and I’m asking for help. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
