My Wish for Marty
Become a part of the tremendous recovery of Marty Scahill, a
traumatic brain injury survivor, and my pal. Support Marty, the one-man party!!
My birthday wish is to help support my friend Marty and his
amazing family...
On October 15, 2011, my dear friend Marty Schaill suffered a
very serious fall down the stairs, only hours after he joined Darren and me at
an art gallery opening. He severely injured his frontal lobe, and was
hospitalized for 100 days, enduring 3 brain surgeries and a seizure. When he
was admitted to Cedars Sinai Hospital, the doctors told his family he was the
most critical patient they had at the time.
I'm proud to say that Marty has made some tremendous
progress in the meantime, such as being able to walk, talk, cook and most
importantly, make people laugh like he always has! However, he still has a very
long road ahead of him, and is in an in-patient rehabilitation center working
every day to recovery physically, emotionally and cognitively.
While Marty is hard at work recovering, his wonderful family
has been uprooted from Florida to be by his side for the past 6 months. It has
been an extreme emotional and financial hardship, and that's how you can help.
Your donation will go towards helping to pay for essential living expenses
incurred by Marty's family, allowing them the peace of mind to support his
inspiring recovery.
Please donate today and help our remarkable friends, and
thank you for your generosity!
