Fund for Botshabelo Internship
Don protégé
My name is Taylor Booth and I will be traveling to Botshabelo, South Africa in May 2015! There I will be participating in a 5 week Global Service Internship. I have dedicated my time in college to making local change by spearheading a program focusing on sustainable partnerships between college athletic teams and local non-profit organizations. This involves the athletic teams to travel to the non-profit at least 6 times in their offseason presenting athletic clinics combined with elements of leadership, sportsmanship, healthy eating, etc.
In South Africa I hope to bring my athletic skills combinded with my community development education to look at the creation of a girls in soccer empowerment program. This will involve working with the community partner to create a curriculum combining soccer skills/fun and elements of empowerment and confidence!
Botshabelo is home to an orphanage that houses over 250 children. They have built a school, medical clinic, home, and safe place for these children and due to their success and open doors a village has surrounded itself around it. To learn more please visit www.botshabelo.org!
Please help me in my mission to make sustainable difference.
