John is a 19 year old college student at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. He is studying English, Secondary Education as well as Psychology, hoping to one day be a teacher or a therapist. Unfortunately, on Janruary 16th, 2015, he was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia, an extremely rare and aggressive blood cancer, and was transported to the Carolina Medical Center for treatment.

 The diagnosis came out of nowhere, and his family has had no way to financially plan for such a major life change. Any donations received would be used to assist John's family with expenses such as gas, food, lodging, or to supplement the income loss occured while staying with him during the duration of his chemotherapy.
