Kristina's Natural Birth Fund
Donation protected
My sweet little sister Kristina has embarked on the journey of motherhood. As it turns out, even with insurance, childbirth is expensive. Especially natural childbirth.
Last night, Kristina called me to say that she thought she would have to take out a loan from the bank in order cover the costs of her upcoming childbirth.
I cannot accept that a woman should have to go into debt in order to pay for her childbirth, and so, with Kristina's blessing I started this GoFundMe.
All funds raised here will go towards the cost of her childbirth at an amazing natural birth center near her home. The birth center will provide awesome prenatal care, everything needed for a safe natural childbirth with a supportive midwifery team that offers the option of waterbirth, many opportunities to take classes on subjects like breastfeeding, AND postpartum care.
The natural birth center is asking $5,000 of which her insurance may potentially reimburse a portion but only after the birth occurs. We must secure these funds quickly, as navigating the insurance/hospital/birthcenter web wasted significant time. Kristina is due to give birth in September and in order to transfer her prenatal care etc. to this awesome facility she must pay them.
I am very proud of my sister for being so brave, educating herself, and making the decision to have a natural birth.
Let's support her in this time! It takes a village. THANK YOU. We love you.
