Krista’s Courageous Cancer Journey
On June 23, our beautiful Krista Dietrich got a diagnosis no one was expecting. Stage 4 metastatic colon and liver cancer. Her only symptoms had been a few weeks of stomach discomfort. Nothing had prepared Krista or her husband Jon for the words, “You have a very aggressive cancer.” Needless to say, everyone was blindsided, and her immediate family have been supporting Krista, Jon and the kids as doctors prepare them for the battle she faces in the months to come.
The family has also rallied to keep life as normal as possible for Krista and Jon’s kids, Jack (3 ½) and Nora (almost 2). Krista spent the past week in the hospital undergoing her first round of chemo and getting a chest port for future chemo and the myriad of tests her doctors will need to monitor her condition. She is eager to be home to hold her babies and spend as much quality time as a rigorous chemo schedule will allow.
Krista is determined to fight! Clearly the costs of treatment, hospital stays and transportation, child care, bills, groceries and every other expense of a young family will be extreme. With Krista unable to work, and Jon balancing her care, the kid’s day to day needs and his work schedule, they will need a village of friends and family for monetary support.
Please support Krista and the Dietrich family with a donation. No amount is too big – or too small. We will keep everyone updated on Krista’s progress, and while she may not have the time or energy to personally thank everyone, please know that her heart is filled with gratitude for your support.
