Kooreman family post-surgery living expenses

My name is Veronica and I am fundraising for my brother-in-law, Joel Kooreman, who recently had a quintuple bypass at the age of 52.

As a part-time employee, and part-time self-employed, he is not able to access sufficient sick leave remuneration to cover the family's living expenses during his recovery period, which is likely to exceed 2 months. He will not be able to return to work until this period is over.

Joel is a loving husband to my sister, Amanda, father of 2 children, Max and Victoria, and a vibrant, fun and outgoing character to be around.

Despite a life of fitness and remaining in shape, in 2022 he had his first heart attack, resulting in daily medication.

1 week ago, he underwent major heart surgery for a triple bypass, but as he was under the knife, it became a quintuple bypass, unexpectedly to all parties.

Joel will be in hospital for a total time of 2 weeks, and a further 6 weeks resting and recovering at their home in Brisbane's north.

We are aiming to raise $7500 for their family, and

are seeking any small amount of money that can be donated to the Kooreman family, in order to assist with their living expenses.

Every amount helps, and we appreciate all contributions, big and small, to ensure that the Kooreman family can keep food on the table and pay their mortgage during this important period of recovery.
