The kittens  in these pictures are about 5 - 6 months old.  The black one, now called Dexter, is a rescue stray from Corfu. The tourist kindly sorted his vaccinations and arranged foster care with a friend in Corfu with Louisa being fully aware and taking him in at th e Ark for the last few days. Dexter is now in England awaiting collection. He was flown there from Corfu in the meantime and is staying with another person who also rescued a stray. Cats have to complete a minimum 3 week quarantine before they can travel. Whilst working out how I would best get him to Jersey, I answered another appeal to home the white one from the Halkida Shelter in Greece.  She is due to travel 12th October to Liz Grayston who fund raises for the Halkida Shelter . I am aware that people aren't sure that these cats are genuine strays. The reality is that someone ahead of me has already provided shelter for them and kept them nourished but without being rehomed, their future is far from certain. You will see that the white one has the tip of her left ear missing. This is what Greek rescuers do to show the cats and kittens are neutered.  The Halkida Shelter looks after the strays it receives by treating, vaccinating and neutering them but they don't all stay long-term. Offering a new future to both these kittens frees up a space  and food for another and prevents future breeding  I have arranged to go with my car to collect them both later in October. In doing so, I have kept costs minimal and the amount I am trying to raise represents about 3/4 of the total expenses. If any money is raised over and above the original £750 total I will be donating it to the Ark, Halkida Shelter and Greek Animal Rescue. There will be  photos and updates as I get them.
