Kirk's Fight with Cancer

Kirk Trone is 44 years old and someone who has always been an active person who loves spending time with his family, working and racing. In December 2016 is when things took a turn. Kirk was having severe pain and a lot of vomiting. He went to a local hospital where they diagnosed him with the stomach flu and sent him home with antibiotics. The medication did not seem to work, so he then went to St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL a few days later. The hospital evaluated his symptoms and decided to do scans on him when they ended up finding the tumor in his colon. Kirk had surgery on December 9th, 2016 to remove the majority of his colon where the tumor was and found it to be cancerous. While doing surgery, they took a biopsy of his liver because they found a lesion and wanted to make sure the cancer had not spread. A couple of weeks later they got the results that cancer had indeed spread to his liver, diagnosing him officially with stage 4 colon cancer. They set another surgery on Jan 23rd, 2017 to have the lesion removed from his liver. Between December to now, Kirk has accumulated a lot of medical expenses, i.e., hospital bills from surgeries, doctors appointments, medications, and now chemotherapy treatments. He will have chemo every two weeks (that started February 7th, 2017) for the next six months. The medical costs and expenses to come will be immense. Any help that Kirk can get to help him get the treatments, medications, etc. he needs, would be so appreciated. Family and friends want to present this to Kirk as a Fathers Day present in June of this year to make this Fathers Day a great one. God Bless!
