Kimmie’s road to recovery

Kimmie was one of the first people I met when I moved to truro. She babysat my kids for years. Kimmie recently had her leg amputated due to complications from diabetes. She also has kidney disease which she attends dialysis three days / week. She is currently waiting for a kidney transplant. Kimmie has a long road ahead of her as she learns to adjust to her new reality. Kimmie is not able to work due to all her health issues. Along with Kimmie’s recovery and rehabilitation comes a lot of extra expenses (medical paraphernalia, etc). I am currently raising money to cover the cost of building a wheelchair accessible deck, which she requires in order to be able to get in and out of the home. My hope is that this amount will also allow for some contribution to other unexpected expenses as she continues on her journey.
Kimmie is the single mom of a beautiful 5 (almost 6) year old girl named Miya. Kimmie has a bubbly personality, is kindhearted and always willing to help others. A lot of her friends weren’t even aware of what Kimmie was recently going through as she didn’t want to bother or burden anyone. She had isolated herself this last while but has felt the many prayers, positive comments and well wishes of everyone and has relied on them and gained strength from everyone in these difficult moments. Despite everything, she continues to have such a positive attitude and looking for the positives that have come from this. Please help me in seeing that Kimmie’s recovery and ongoing health journey is a little less stressful by raising some much needed funds for some unexpected expenses.
