Kimmie’s cancer treatment
Donation protected
If you know my family at all, you’d know they aren’t the biggest on asking for help. Well we just aren’t enough on our own with this one.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
My sister Kimmie is 34, and if you don’t know her on a personal level, she is very quiet and reserved. But once she feels comfortable, she is the total opposite. The girl is loud, mildly annoying of course, and fun to be around. Two years ago she was admitted into the hospital for abdominal pain. CT results showed what they assumed to be her appendix enlarged and they scheduled to remove to it. But it ruptured as they awaited surgery. They were going to do a second CT scan to see what had happened but then decided not to. Some antibiotics and away home she went. Fast forward to now…..
3 weeks ago she was admitted to the same hospital for abdominal pain yet again. A large mass was shown on the CT scan. White blood cell count is high and drs don’t have a clue. They decide to do an exploratory laparoscopy to see what the mass could be. Cancer. Of course it would be cancer. Stage 2. Drs were shocked. While inside they removed part of her colon, her right ovary, and her right fallopian tube. Apparently that enlarged appendix they saw on the CT scan 2 ago was partially the tumor according to the surgeon. So 2 years ago the cancer was there. It’s what caused the appendix to rupture. For two years it’s been spreading undetected.
Chemo is needed to treat the cancer they couldn’t remove. Chemo requires health insurance which my sister is not fortunate enough to be able to afford. She has obviously missed work for a few weeks now and is still recovering from surgery so can not be cleared to go back just yet. The thought of going through chemotherapy is scary enough in and of itself. The stress and fear of “how in the world am I going to afford this?” Shouldn’t have to be added on top of that. I know she would never ask, so IM ASKING, if anyone would like to donate ANYTHING, every dollar helps!
