Kim's Recovery from the Tville Flood

Donation protected
The recent flooding in Townsville has impacted the homes and lives of many, including our dear Kim.

Being situated in an area that was never prior considered a high flood risk, Kim was shocked to be woken up at 3am on February 2nd by the police, giving firm instructions to evacuate her home. Given the urgency (having to walk through waist deep water) and being on her own, she was only able to get out with her cat (Sushi) and a backpack full of personal items. It didn't take long before her home and car were under water.

Kim was taken in by good friends Katie and Josh and immediately overwhelmed by the love and support offered to her by family, friends and complete strangers.

February 5th, Kim was able to return to her home and assess the damage. Sadly, Kimmy's  home was one of the 1000 that had been completely inundated. While insurance will cover the structural repairs, her hot water system, air conditioners and contents will need to be replaced at her own expense.

Despite losing everything, Kim has remained incredibly positive with her sense of humour in tact! She is the kind of person who would take the shirt off her own back for someone in need and it is time to show her the same level of love and support

If you could please help us get behind Kim and rebuild her home, it would be greatly appreciated.

A huge thank you to those who have already reached out and helped her with the clean-up!
