Kidney for our Mommy
My name is Daisy and my siblings and I would like to welcome you to our journey, our mom Sofia (65 yrs )is battling stage 5 kidney disease. She was diagnosed with the very painful Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) at a very young age and with great care Mom has managed to live somewhat a "normal" life, but now Mom's kidneys are almost shutting down and she needs a new kidney ASAP. Thankfully our baby sister Linda (31yrs) has made the selfless decision to be tested for compatibility and thanks to God she is a match!!
The time has finally come for Mom to feel better and lead a life with no pain through the transplant. The Texas Transplant Institute (TTI) where surgery will take place is located in San Antonio, Texas, about a five hour drive for Mom and Dad and about a twelve hour drive for our baby sister from Bentonville Arkansas. Mom was told she will have to return to TTI twenty one times throughout the first year for checkups. We are in need of funds to help with the cost of medication, hospital bills, post-op care, utilities and expenses with traveling to and from San Antonio.
