Kevin Brown's Medical Recovery 2022

On September 28, 2022, Kevin suffered a pulmonary embolism and was resuscitated by first responders and other medical professionals. Since being hospitalized, he's taken two steps forward and two steps back. His forward progress of regaining consciousness and getting off of oxygen was met with deterioration and total loss of his vision, as well as the emergence of debilitating & persistent muscle spasms and cramping. His medical team determined that he also suffered a mini stroke. He continues to receive excellent care at VCU; his doctors are optimistic that he'll regain his eyesight and the muscle spasms will calm down and allow him to regain use of his arms and legs with time and a long journey with OT and PT. This journey is set to start tomorrow, 10 October 2022, when Kevin is transferred to a rehabilitation facility for the next month or more; he will receive intensive PT and OT while there.

Kevin and Toni would never ask for help on their own so we've set up this account to provide some financial help and allow them to focus on Kevin's recovery. They have family in town helping out with the day-to-day stuff. Any money raised will go toward medical bills and ongoing expenses while Kevin is out of work and Toni is juggling the kids and being there for Kevin.
