Ken Goh's Treatment & Recovery Fund
Donation protected
(Donations are in USD) Many of you may not know but in the beginning of this year, Rachael's father, Ken was diagnosed
with Stage 2 Multiple Myeloma. It is a cancer that develops in plasma cells, a
type of white blood cell responsible for reproducing antibodies. Ken Goh is currently
undergoing oral chemotherapy treatment and desperately needs a drug, bortezomib (Velcade) to help combat the cancer.
The Sarawak General Hospital in Malaysia is unable to purchase this medicine
and Rachael's family will have to pay for it themselves. Ken is unable to
resume his job as a squash coach and funds are tight. These past months have
been a great struggle as he continues to fight the battle of cancer.
If you know Ken, you would know him as a wonderful man, father, and mentor. Beginning with his coaching career in 1982, Ken has since been in charge of training the top junior players in Sarawak, Malaysia. I and many others including his daughter Rachael have had the privilege to have Ken as our coach. One of his former student and former national player, Azlan Iskandar has already raised $6,600 USD by organizing the Xodus 7 Continent Challenge in Malaysia featuring Peter Nicol and Tim Garner.
Ken Goh and his family are doing their best to stay positive in his long road ahead to recovery and we are hopeful this page can serve to relieve some of the financial burden by raising funds in his name. Rachael, his daughter, is currently in her final year of college at University of Pennsylvania and will be returning home to Malaysia shortly after graduation to be with her father. With your help, we can get the funds needed for Ken to continue his treatment. Please help spread the word and donate if you can. Any contributions would be very much appreciated!
Thank you,
Rachael Goh & Jo-Ann Jee
