Hi everyone!
Most of you know by now that my dear friend, Kelly Verthein, was in a terrible car accident on the morning of January 11th. She was driving home from work when she was involved in a very severe accident. The injuries she sustained from the accident were fractures on both of her femurs, a shattered ankle, & a fractured wrist. Thankfully she didn't suffer from any internal or head injuries - broken bones can always heal! Although her injuries are very severe and her recovery will be a long, hard journey she is maintaining a positive attitude through it all.
No one can say for certain how long her recovery process will take, but what we do know for sure is that she won't be able to walk for at least three months after her second surgery. After that she will begin the process of physical therapy. Anyone who knows Kelly & her husband, Joey, know that they have dedicated their lives to helping others through their Nursing professions at St. Mary's in Hobart. Now it is our turn to take care of them. The last thing they need to be worried about during this terrible hardship is finances. I wanted to set up this Go Fund Me account to help Kelly and Joey with any expenses they have and will continue to acquire during this long road to recovery.
Lastly, on behalf of her family I want to thank everyone for all of your prayers and kind wishes towards Kelly. Your prayers have been working, but we need them to continue! All prayers and donations during this time are genuinely appreciated and will be of great help!
