My dad is dead, my mom survived COVID but was in the hospital system for months. She had a heart attack and a quadruple bypass while she was there.

My children lost their grandpa and almost lost there grandma. 

I lost half my income to COVID in 2020 and the rest to trying to make sure my dad and mom got the best care and hold our daily together. 

I failed. My dad died. We did succeed with my mom 4 months in the hospital and quadruple bypass she sid survive COVID but has months of rehab in here future.  

We are saving lives with our families story. The Chicago Tribune had the courage to call out doctors and the AMA and tell my dads story.  There are people that are alive today because the Tribune told that story. A lot of people have been vaccinated after reading that story. My dad’s death was needless, but at least we’ve been able to give my dad something more than just that needless death.

There are several projects in motion looking at using our families story to help save even more lives.

I lost more than 3 months of my life, work and income struggling to fight for my parents lives after they got COVID.     

If you’ve never had two parents in the hospital at once dying of COVID one would hope the system would be designed to be as helpful as possible for you and for them. It’s not, it’s far from it. It took every ounce of energy I had to make sure my parents got the best of the best.

Updates: My apologies to all of you. I thought I had updated this a few weeks ago? We got the utilities back on, phones are on our Internet is on. It’s just the rent we are behind on now.

I’m hoping we can raise and additional $3000 in the next day or so and I will be able to pay June from my first paycheck and I can shut this down.
