Keep Goddess Camps affordable to all

Here is Barb Galiotto's message and purpose:

Hi friends of girls,

Most of you know about the Goddess Camps I have run in the summer for the past 27 years, and many of you have attended or sent your daughters to a camp. After seeing the recent Dove commercial, I was reminded of what set all of these camps in motion in the first place!

It started when I read Reviving Ophelia 28 years ago. What was happening to girls was appalling to me. Body image was morphing into eating disorders, self-harm, drugs, alcohol and sexual abuse. I felt there should be a place girls could go to retreat and talk about these things in open discussions. Since then I have enlisted the help of many professional therapists, coaches and artists to bring these camps together each year. We even managed to have retreats during the pandemic!

I put these together without thinking about paying myself because I felt this was what I needed to do and I got so much out of it myself! I've run these at cost for all this time, making sure that these valuable summer retreats could be accessed by all who needed them and that those helping me would be compensated for their time (even though most of the time it was less than they would have charged otherwise)

Now that I am retired, I need to pay myself and all of the other experts I bring in. I am asking you to support my Goddess Camps Retreats in honor of all girls so that I can continue this tradition for the future.

If you or your daughter has benefited from these camps, please consider giving what you can to help me cover the costs for this year's camps while keeping them affordable to the participants and hopefully a deposit toward next year's camps. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
