Kayla is a type 1 diabetic. While she has managed her diabetes since the young age of 3, in 2015 she was diagnosed with gastroparesis. Gastroparesis is essentially paralysis of the stomach. It’s classified as a digestive disorder that affects how the stomach muscles function and prevents the stomach from emptying. Kayla has been in and out of the hospital several times over the last few months as the severity of the disease continues to grow. Medical bills are accruing as she fights for treatment to regain her health and quality of life. Over the past month, Kayla has had to reduce her working hours to part-time to help alleviate the strain on her body.
Newly married in July of 2017, Ryan and Kayla should be enjoying this time in their lives. Kayla is a warrior. Despite the hardships she is faced with, she perseveres and remains positive.
We have started this GoFundMe on behalf of Kayla and Ryan to assist in covering her medical expenses.
