Mission - Coach Soccer in Nicaragua

Donación protegida
Dear family, friends, our teachers, our neighbors, ...

It comes with great excitement that my little brother Cameron and I have the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua on a Mission Trip to help coach and play soccer to and with the children of Nicaragua for a week in July. As, I prepare for college in 2017 and my brother prepares for his middle school journey next year, we both thought it would be an awesome way to truly understand our place in the world and to see what life is like outside of America. God has really been touching our hearts to meet the children of Nicaragua ever since my mother took her first Mission Trip to help build/establish a school and work with a medical team in November of 2014. She always has an excitement for the Lord and missions, but the stories, pictures, and humbleness she came home with began to touch Cameron and I. WE now have a chance to serve. My mother will be traveling with us, however as Cameron and I spend our days and nights teaching/playing soccer skills to youth, coaching small games, interacting with children from such poverty, refereeing, sharing our passion of Jesus with others, and making new friends, my mother will spend her time working with teachers and in a small school that she helped establish in 2014.

Our family attends Elevation church and we will be traveling throughBlessBack Worldwide, www.blessbackworldwide.org. BlessBack was born during the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010. The original team was a group of 22 doctors and medical volunteers who had hearts to care for the oppressed, impoverished, and suffering. Last year, BlessBack expanded its ministry to the beautiful county of Nicaragua to include education and soccer. Nicaragua is the second poorest nation in the western hemisphere after Haiti. Food is their greatest need right now, for the price of beans has gone from 30 cents a lb. to $1.10 a lb and families cannot afford that at all. The only food these families have are rice and beans. There is no running water and most people only live with a tarp and metal, if that, over their heads. Cameron, mom and I feel so blessed to have been asked to be part of this ministry.

We will be leaving on July 6, 2015 for a 7 day trip. During this time, we will be working tirelessly with a sports team, mom in schools writing curriculum, sponsor children, establishing a protocol, as well as educating and training women who will work in the school once students are enrolled. Cameron and I will both be working on our Spanish in the weeks to come. Thank God I just finished my second year of high school Spanish.

Cameron is so excited to be able to meet the children, play soccer, and have fun with the people my mother speaks so much of and I am excited about what will happen in my heart as I interact and meet people less fortunate than me.

I would be honored and grateful to have your support through prayer and if the Lord leads you, through GIVING. Cameron and I must raise $4000.00 in order to go on this trip ($2000 for each of us). My mom will raise her own :)

Please pray for our team as we prepare, and for my family to have wisdom and discernment. Pray for our safety and that we would fulfill all that God has purposed for us to accomplish while we are there, that we would have favor in traveling and with the people there. The that Lord would out every small detail of ministry and give us souls for our labor. Pray that we would go in the power and anointing of the Lord.

And lastly, if you would like to contribute through donations, we will be collecting many things to take with us. As many SCHOOL/SOCCER SUPPLIES as we could fit in 20 duffle bags: crayons, markers, construction paper, glue, scissors, watercolors, paint, art supplies, children’s books in Spanish, soccer balls, soccer jerseys, short, new or gently used uniforms, new or gently used tennis shoes, etc. These may be dropped off at Freedom Montessori School, 215 East Main Street, Rock Hill, S.C. 29732

Please follow us on our trip in July and “like” BlessBack Worldwide on Facebook. Since I will not have access to technology on this trip, a photo journalist will be reporting back to you.

I can not wait to see what this place is all about mom!

Thank you all so much for your support for my brother and I.

Many, many blessing upon all of you reading this.
