Kathy for the Win!!!

If you're reading this, you most likely already know how amazing my mom, Kathy, is. (And if you haven't met her and only know me, it's safe to assume that any good characteristic I have comes from her.) Despite being diagnosed with Metastatic Carcinoma on Thursday, January 26, Kathy is still as positive and strong as ever.

However, medical costs are expensive, and we are in serious need. My mother doesn't have health insurance but rather is a member of a medical cost-sharing ministry. We hope that my parents will be reimbursed in full, but all medical bills must be reviewed and approved for reimbursement. So there is a chance that some bills are not covered. Moreover, it takes over two months for bills to be processed and, if applicable, for reimbursement to be rendered. In the meantime, my parents must pay every cost up front and out of pocket (They've already been billed 50k just for the hospital visit, ambulance, and other initial tests. My mother has not even started treatment yet).

Your generosity will not only help cover the costs not approved by the cost-sharing "insurance" but will also provide us with liquid cash to pay the bills while we hope and wait for reimbursement.

Lastly, this "goal" is only an estimate of what we need in the immediate future. We may adjust as our needs develop.
