As some of you know, while Kathleen was taking her mom to a New York Yankees game, she lost consciousness outside of the stadium and was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated in the ICU. Kathleen had a submassive saddle Pulmonary Embolism, a condition many people would've died from. Fortunately, as the clot traveled through her heart and into the pulmonary valve, it broke into pieces and spread into both lungs.  As I said before, Kathleen is still as strong as the day we all met her but she will not be able to work anytime soon.  Fortunately, Kat was discharged last week and is recovering at home.  
However, recently she was informed that our BCBS insurance provided through RWJ BARNABAS Health is not covering the medical expenses acquired while receiving immaculate (sarcasm) care at Bronx Lebanon. Even though Kathleen was in a life threatening situation, having no choice in the hospital destination, she is being billed out of network. The hospital is looking to bill her between $15,000-$25,000.
Again, we are asking for your continued support and generous donations to help Kat during these hard times.
So far with everyones support we have already raised $4,000. Lets continue to reach our goal of $15,000.
