Karen Kay “KK” Stein Husky
Donation protected
Karen Kay Stein Husky, age 48, known to most of us as KK, had a heart attack on July 12th. She underwent a heart catheterization on July 14th. They were unable to insert stints due to the extensive blockage and a triple bypass was necessary on July 16th. Complications ensued and KK developed blood clots in her lungs and left leg which sent her back to the ER twice. A staph infection developed in her incision site causing fever and a great deal of pain. She spent the better part of three weeks in the hospital and was finally discharged with a wound vac unit. KK was going to a wound care center every other day. The infection persisted which caused her to be hospitalized again, ultimately undergoing another surgery to remove the infection on August 6th. KK is still hospitalized today, August 8th. We are optimistic that she will be released within a few days, with a bigger and better wound vac unit and a PICC line for IV antibiotics to be administered at the hospital for a course of 6 weeks. KK has been unable to work and unfortunately has no insurance. Donations are urgently needed to help with the rising costs of medical bills and provide aide due to her current loss of income. KK is a single Mom with two teenage children.
