Kaleb's journey to recovery

My Nephew and Niece's Son, Kaleb is 18-months old and has been in and out of the hospital since birth. Dr.'s were not able to figure out what was wrong with him and why his tummy began to get bloated the way it did until recently. On Friday 6/30/17 he had a very hard time breathing and was immediately taken to the ER. Finally after running test they found a massive tumor that covered his entire spine and needed surgery. The neurosurgeon has spoken with our family and 80% of the tumor was removed. This was a very intense operation and will need to go back in and remove the rest of this tumor. His little body was not able to take anymore and needed to end the surgery, stabilize him and will decide when another surgery can be done on him. What we are being told by the Neurosurgeon is that he may have been born with this glioma & grew with time. He does not believe this is a cancer but will send a biopsy to Pathology & if it is, it is a very low grade that can be treatable. We will get/give more updates soon and & will discuss his next operation as well as physical therapy. At this time he only has feeling on one leg. He'll need to start all over with mobility and hoping he can use both legs. This is going to be a long road to recovery. With Mom/Dad spending all of their time at the hospital with Kaleb, the challenge will be to care for Kaleb while still being able to care for their 2 other little ones at home. We appreciate all prayers or support from everyone and will continue to have faith in God.
