Father and Son Reunion

Like father, like son?

Bryant Powell would love more moments like this one with his 8 year old son.  Sadly, such moments are few and far between.  Bryant lives in California and his son lives in Ohio.

Mom does not want the child in Bryant's life -- ever, according to the guardian ad litem.  Several times Bryant has come to Ohio only to be denied visitation.  He is even denied telephone contact with his son.  3 court battles, over $100k in legal costs and 8 years later, Bryant continues his quest.  He knows the importance of the parent-child relationship.

Anyone who knows Bryant realizes what a treasure he is.  Outgoing and upbeat, he is a fun person to be around.  Just the kind of person a son would love to spend time with.

In the most recent court battle, trial has been delayed for over 9 months.  The magistrate refused to grant temporary visitation.  The judge reversed  and Bryant got to see his son for the first Christmas in his son's 8 short years.

Child support is set artificially highly leaving even fewer resources to continue in court.  The court recently denied a request to address first the child support issue.  Bryant's last pay check was $0.  How does one live with a $0 paycheck?

Recently, Bryant's dad passed away, without ever having had a chance to know his grandson.  Cases like these are really a travesty of justice.  People often call them deadbeat dads, but sometimes dads just run out of money.

The guardian ad litem must be paid or the court can dismiss the case without granting visitation.  Transcripts must be purchased to continue the case.  Attorney's fees must be paid, although Bryant's attorney has been working feverishly with no payment so far.

We welcome donations in any demonimination. None are too small.  We are asking for your help because Bryant has used all of his resources in this important endeavor.  We invite you to join us in helping Bryant and other parents like him.  All proceeds go first to pay for Bryant's case with the balance going to the Center for Truth and Justice, a charitable organization dedicated to funding cases such as Bryant's.  Help "Change the World" by promoting parenting time between father and son.
