Jay's Road to recovery

On Sunday the 9th of Febuary there was a serious road traffic collision where a car lost control and collided with a tree on Nuthurst road/ansley road where sadly the driver lost his life, a passenger was in a life threatening condition and another passenger thankfully had minor injuries.

Jay is the passenger that suffered life threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital after enjoying a night out with friends.

Jay suffered with a serious life threatening brain injury, a fractured neck, a severed liver, a severed aorta, a damaged spleen, broken ribs, and even severed her tongue, and a missing tooth along with other cuts and bruises.

The A&E doctors and nurses didnt think Jay was going to make it and was rushed straight in for life saving surgery on her brain where she had to have part of her skull removed.

Jay was placed into a medically induced coma and within a matter of hours Jay was taken back into theatre to have the internal injuries to her liver, aorta and spleen repaired.

It wasnt until the next day that her severed tongue was noticed due to being intubated, Jay was once again taken into theatre for yet another operation to reattach her tongue.

Finally on Valentines day Jay came out of the induced Coma, Jay was so brave and was fighting so hard to recover from everything she had been through.

Jay has a very long recovery ahead of her and now has been moved after nearly 5 weeks to a rehabilitation hospital where they can specialise and tailor her specific rehabilitation needs to help with her recovery.

As you can imagine this has turned Jays life upside down from being a very social outgoing young lady to now having rehabilitation and a very long recovery to which we all hope there will not be any further complications or pain later on in life due to her injuries. But most importantly Jay has a 6 year old son that she so desperately misses spending time with and her son misses his mummy very much. We all need Jay to pull through this very difficult time with rehabilitation so she can support her son and be able to support herself.

We are looking to raise as much money as possible so adaptions can be made to her family home so she can live comfortably and safely when the time comes for her to go home and be reunited with her family.

Jay hasnt been able to work through this as you can imagine, the bills are stacking up and will continue to do so and we would like to raise as much as possible to take the worry and fear away from her so she can focus on getting better.

I know these days are difficult for everyone financially and any donation to Jays cause its so greatly appreciated no matter how big or small.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, we can only wish Jay a speedy recovery on this journey to living a normal comfortable life.
