MJ’s Urolith Bladder Stone and Liver Shunt Surgery
Spende geschützt

Six days after we got MJ, We noticed blood around his mouth. He wouldn’t let anyone touch his face and he stopped eating his food. We took him to the vet, he was diagnosed with a mouth infection and was put on antibiotics for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks of antibiotics, We still didn’t see any changes and took him back to the vet. We were then told his tooth was tearing his gums causing the bleeding. Suggested by the vet, We put him on soft food and waited till 7 months of age to put him under to remove the tooth since he was too young and under the weight. MJ ended up in the vet 2 more times a short time after with an ear mite infection and was put on ivomac drops for his ears for 8 weeks. When MJ turned 7 months he went to get his dental surgery, We found out he needed to have 8 teeth removed because of the infection caused in his mouth, followed by MJ having to be on more antibiotics for 2 weeks.

In May of 2022, he was diagnosed with a UTI and was given antibiotics along with a prescription diet food. MJ then passed several bladder stones 2 days after. We took the stones MJ had passed to the vet to get tested which we soon found out that they are called Urolith Bladder Stones. The vet told us that there are still a large volume of stones in his bladder.
On July 10, 2023, we found out the results for MJ’s Bile Acid Blood test (shown in updates) ordered by the surgeon from Blue Pearl (completed on July 8, 2023), We were told what we feared was true that MJ has a liver shunt. He states that surgery will help correct MJ’s Liver Shunt and from having anymore Urolith stones in the near future so MJ can live to his full life ahead of him.
The surgery is an estimated amount of $8,428. The price of the surgery is more than we can afford. With your help we hope we can get the surgery he needs to live a happy and full life. We love our MJ and hope that with your generosity we can give him the life he deserves! No donation is too big or too small and we are incredibly grateful.
After losing a beloved pet named Max a year ago who was also a rescue and who happens to look just like MJ, and having to deal with what we are now is even more heartbreaking. We hope you will share MJ’s story and donate if you can to help us afford his surgery.
