HELP ME EARN MY WINGS
My name is Rashaan Allen Jr. I am Senior at Suitland High School located in Forestville, Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. During my high school years I have dedicated much my time to my school's Navy J.R.O.T.C. program, track & field, my academics, and trying to earn my pilot's license. I was able to achieve many honors in N.J.O.R.T.C. such as Unit Achievement, Distinguished Cadet, Most Athletic (PT Award) for Area 5, and earned the rank of O-5 Commander. In track I've earned many medals as a middle and long distance runner and even qualified and competed in the A.A.U. Junior Olympics held in Des Moines, Iowa last summer.
One of my last immediate goals before I turn 18 and go off to college this summer is to complete the requirements for my private pilot's license. Through a program called Tuskegee Airman Youth and Aviation, I was able to learn a lot of history about aviation, complete ground school, and just recently passed my private pilot's written exam. I am now in the final stages of the process and asking for your help. In order to meet my final requirements, I need approximately 25 more flight hours. At a cost of about $150 per hour (totaling just over $3,000), it would be impossible for me to meet my requirements before I leave to college, but with your help and donation (any amount is greatly appreciated) I could get it all done before I start college and before my 18th birthday.
Please know, that I am asking for your help, but this is NOT a necessity. Although it would mean the world to me to get this, if it doesn't happen now I know it will happen later, so don't feel bad if you can't help, just wish me well and share my story,
Thanks you.
