Hi our names are Arcadia, Anthony & Jasmine. On Monday April 14th 2025, our family experienced a tragedy. Our dog Sunny tragically passed away at the hands of a few very negligent “veterinarians”.
On Monday April 14th, Arcadia & Anthony had an appointment at 2pm to drop off Sunny for a neuter procedure. A procedure that normally takes 30 minutes, lasted 8 hours. 8 very long hours where we believe our Sunny suffered from negligence & was deprived of basic care & attention.
When we dropped him off we overheard one of the receptionists complaining how busy they were, but not once did they bother asking anyone to reschedule.
We were told he would be ready by 7pm, already a long wait time, especially since his last meal was at 6pm on Sunday because we were told he couldn’t eat or drink water after midnight the day of his surgery.
But we never received a call. We called at 7:01pm and were told he wouldn’t be ready until 10 but they would push for 9:30. At 9:31pm, we received a call that Sunny would be ready to be picked up at 10pm. At 9:46pm, we got another call urgently asking us how far we were, but not explaining why. When we got there, the Veterinarians were trying to resuscitate Sunny.
We weren’t given any legitimate medical explanation as to what happened to Sunny. The only answers we got was “he crashed after surgery” no additional explanation after that. Why did his heart stop? Why did he “crash”?! So many questions, yet no answers. The surgeon himself had no idea what happened. Let me say that again the Veterinarian whose sole purpose is to be knowledgeable in this matter had no idea why Sunny had died.
In tears, shock & pure terror. They gave us Sunny’s body & basically sent us on our way with no answers, no empathy, and no paperwork. Absolutely nothing.
After going back & forth these past few days with phone calls, in person visits with the rude receptionists, the Vets themselves, & even the manager of the entire establishment to get answers or just a simple EXPLANATION; we’ve come to the conclusion that this was an act of negligence & lack of knowledge of how to care for our baby Sunny.
At this point we just want to lay Sunny to rest & bury him.
How many other pets have died at the hands of this place? How many other families have been affected? Just look at the recent reviews and see for yourself! (Affordable Animal Hospital NOHO)
With that being said we have decided to take measures into our own hands to find out what really happened to our baby.
We got Sunny December 25, 2022, our best Christmas gift ever. Sunny was first named as Cannoli and was born on August 2nd 2021. He was the sweetest boy & anyone who has met him can attest to that. Always loyal, he had the biggest heart & the kindest soul. The chillest dog you could ever meet. He provided us with so much joy & unconditional love. On the days that seemed unbearable Sunny was always there for us. He was never aggressive & was always happy to see any pet or person that would say hello. He loved to cuddle, play, & sleep by our sides as we watched tv. He slept with Arcadia & Anthony every single night. He always looked at us with the most warming, loving eyes. He loved running even though he would get completely winded 2 minutes after. He was so innocent & he didn’t deserve what happened to him, not one bit. He was the best dog we could’ve ever asked for. He was perfect for our imperfect family. We’re completely devastated.
Any donations, anything at all could help us get Justice for Sunny. We will try our very best to get answers. To hire a lawyer to hopefully get us those answers and to hold these people to a standard of accountability that they’re clearly not used to having.
